Numerical simulation of the interaction between nonlinear sloshing flow and side-mounted perforated baffles

This study investigates the effect of nonlinear strengths sloshing on damping performance side-mounted perforated baffles and discusses influence resonance characteristics flow. The model score is adopted to evaluate strength water sloshing. A microscopic a volume-averaged macroscopic are established simulate flow in two-dimensional (2D) tank with baffles. In addition, series experimental tests conducted validate numerical model. By analyzing effects baffles, critical Reynolds number (Re) equal 56 000 obtained: For smaller than strength, due mainly achieved by shifting energy density excitation frequency; for enhanced value, further increasing shows slight performance, an additional increase response occurred violent interaction between fluid Importantly, corresponding independent properties such as porosity mounted form. Furthermore, can be significantly weakened blockage accompanying negative growth maximum force amplitude bulkhead.
